Matt Boldy’s shootout goal secured a 5-4 victory for the Minnesota Wild over the New York Rangers after a three-goal comeback. Mats Zuccarello and Artemi Panarin scored goals in the shootout, with Boldy’s shot hitting the pipe and bouncing off Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick, and going into the net. Zuccarello, Ryan Hartman, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Marco Rossi scored in regulation for the Wild, ending a four-game losing streak.

Marc-Andre Fleury replaced Filip Gustavsson in the first period after giving up 3 quick goals and making 13 saves. Panarin and Erik Gustafsson had a goal and an assist each, and Jimmy Vesey and Chris Kreider scored for the Rangers, who had won six consecutive games. Quick stopped 36 shots.

Despite an early 3-0 lead for the Rangers, the Wild dominated the last two periods, outshooting New York 26-12. Hartman, Eriksson Ek, and Rossi contributed to Minnesota’s comeback. Kreider tied Andy Bathgate for fourth place on the Rangers’ career goals list. Congrats Kreids!

The Rangers will face Detroit next on Tuesday night at MSG. Time to get back on track. LGR!
