The Blueshirts came up sluggish losing 4-1 yesterday with a season-low 21 shots on goal.

When Bruins Charlie Coyle’s wrist shot connected past Alexander Georgiev in the first period the Rangers

Boston owned the blue-line and everywhere around Rask. Complete opposite from Friday night.

Colin Blackwell scored his fifth goal of the season Georgiev made 31 saves.

Georgiev returned to the game after leaving with an apparent head injury in the first period.

Postives

Colin Blackwell had five shots on goal and another goal.

Both rookies Lafreniere and Miller assisted on Blackwell’s goal. Two-point streak for Lafreniere.

Penalty Kill: (1-1) Boston had one in the first period and it was killed off.

Brendan Lemieux took 15 minutes worth of penalties when the game was over! This was retaliation on Nich Ritchie, who fell on Georgiev in the first. Flashbacks to Sean Avery!!!

Negatives

Powerplay: (0-3) was non-existent. Nothing else then AWFUL.

Zibanejad made three shots on goal but missed the net twice on the PP. His passes are off. He’s pressing right now and its time to give him a rest for a few games once Filip Chytil returns from his injury possibly this week.

Prospect ALERT:

Russian Prospect Vitali Kravtsov could be with the Blueshirts as early as late-March or Early April, via Larry Brooks of NY Post. They are expected to recall him from his loan to Chelyabink.

Kravstov plays for Chelyabink in the KHL. The playoffs just started and once the team is knocked out then the timeframe will be more clear.

“The Rangers should have enough room in another couple of weeks for Kravtsov as long as injured parties return sooner rather than later and further injuries do not occur that would force the team to keep a bloated roster.” – Brooks

This would be a nice addition to the third or fourth lines. Maybe he plays with Buch. Will figure this out later on.

Rangers host Buffalo on Tuesday Night at MSG.
