Rangers start 3 game Western Conference homestand tonight vs San Jose

The Rangers return home for the matchup tonight against the San Jose Sharks. Face off is at 7pm and will be televised on MSG Networks. The Rangers and David Quinn are still trying to put the puzzle pieces together and collect their first win of the 2018-2019 season. With a 0-3-0 record it has not been because of a lack of effort. The Rangers are averaging 34 shots a game but have made critical mistakes at the wrong times and have not been able to convert at crucial parts of the game. Most of Wednesdays practice was focused on the PP units which went 1-4 vs Carolina in the high scoring 8-5 loss Sunday afternoon. The Sharks are coming of a 8-2 victory vs the Flyers on Tuesday night. The Sharks are currently 2-2-0 for the season. San Jose is another top Western Conference team projected to finish in the top. The Sharks come in tonight hungry for a win in game 4 of a 5 game road trip. Henrik Lundqvist expected to get the start between the pipes. Shattenkirk and Pionk most likely a healthy scratch. Freddy Claesson in a blueshirt tonight.
